ABC Trek and Helicopter Return Itinerary

Welcome to Nepal. One of the representatives of Peregrine Treks and Expedition Pvt. Ltd. Will be present at Tribhuwan International Airport for your welcome. He/she will then escort you to your hotel at Thamel. Thamel is the major touristic area. After you settle in your rooms, you will then be assembled for a small meeting by our manager. In that meeting, you will meet your trekking guide and team members. The guide will take the rest of the session to brief the trekking itinerary and familiarize it with necessary trekking gears. After that, you will have your free time to go shopping and manage your backpack.

Today, we will take a luxurious bus ride to Pokhara after breakfast. It will take approximately seven hours to reach Pokhara. However, we can assure you that the journey won’t be tedious. The road follows the Prithivi Highway passing two major rivers Trishuli and Marshyangdi. The geography alongside the river area is both thrilling and amazing. You will encounter many structured hills, mostly with lush forests and some with terraced farms.

Reaching Pokhara, you will automatically feel the change in atmosphere and ambiance. Pokhara is known as the city of lakes and is the gateway to trekkers for the Annapurna region Manaslu region. Moreover, many of the elite and brave Gurkha soldiers (Gurungs) inhibit in Pokhara. Settling in the hotel at Lake Side area, you can utilize your free time to explore the city and collect the gears if needed.

The first day of Annapurna trek starts with a short ride to Nayapul from Pokhara. After an hour of the journey, the porters will carry your luggage and start the trek. Walking for thirty minutes, you will reach Birethanti, where your guide will register your ACAP permit and TIMS card in the office. The process will hardly take 15 minutes, then resume your trek towards Hile crossing the small bridge and take the left turn. Walking for around three hours, you will finally reach Hile. There are few lodges in Hile. However, you will have to walk for twenty more minutes and enter today’s destination. You will spend your night there at one of the suitable lodges in Tikhedhunga.

We will resume the trek after having an energetic breakfast. Today we will cross one suspension bridge and walk on the stone staircase, taking us to Ulleri. There are 3250 stairs to be climbed today, which would take up to one and a half hours. In Ulleri, you will mostly find people of the Magar tribe. They have a popular trend in entering the British regiment army. Walking for some more uphill trails, we will pause in Banthanti for lunch. You can get the eye-popping views of the rhododendron forest from that village.

After lunch, we will continue walking further upwards to Ghorepani junction. Colorful rhododendron flowers bloom in April and May. Ghorepani is popular among most of the trekkers due to the Magar ethnicity and hospitality provided by Magar villagers. It is divided into two areas known as Lower and Upper Ghorepani. From the junction, we will enter lower Ghorepani.

Further walking past two hours uphill, we finally will reach upper Ghorepani. Tonight, we will stay in Upper Ghorepani. From this point, we can quickly get the closer sightings of Annapurna south and the Dhaulagiri range. You will experience the fall of temperature starting this point tonight.

On this day, we will have to wake up pretty early and hike to Poon Hill for sunrise view. Poon Hill – Asia’s beautiful mountain views are situated at an altitude of 3210 meters and present majestic sunrise point. While you wait for the sun to rise, you can set up your cameras to capture the incredible moment. When it’s time for the sun to show up from horizons, the light will glare the sky and make way for mountains to shine. Simultaneously, you will see Annapurnas, Himchuli, Nilgiri, Dhaulagiri, and other surrounding peaks. After capturing the memories, we will descend back to the same lodge for breakfast and prepare to check out from there.

Walking back to the same rhododendron forest trail, we will cross Tadhapani and reach Deurali after two hours. Deurali is at 2990 meters and presents spectacular Himalayan views. Pacing our steps to descend further down to Banthanti, there we will have our lunch. After lunch, we will fall for a while to take another climb up to Tadhapani. It is a small village at 2700 meters with a mystical rhododendron forest. Reaching Tadhapani, you will feel closer to Annapurna South, Fishtail, and Himchuli mountains.

Today’s trail has a mixture of various spectacular features apart from the geography. Descending from Tadhapani, we will make our path through numerous Gurung settlements. Gurung tribe are the dominants of the region. Most of the Gurung men are into British Gurkha Army. Moreover, the Gurung tribe has its own culture, traditions, language, and customs. They welcome every guest with a big heart and warm hospitality.

Passing the village, we will enter the trail of a beautiful lush rhododendron forest. Rhododendron – the national flower of Nepal and is called Laligurans in Nepali. Further, you will also encounter various species of Himalayan birds. It would be an exciting mid-way adventure for bird lovers. Eventually, we will reach the gateway to the Annapurna Sanctuary in Chhomrong. However, we will warm up to trek further uphill and spend our night in Sinuwa village.

We will leave Sinuwa after having our breakfast. We will start walking inside the dense bamboo forest on an average muddy trail alongside small streams. Nearly after three hours, we will reach Dovan village. We will have our lunch at Dovanand rest for a while. We still have to walk for an hour to reach today’s destination. Climbing further uphill in search of best mountain sighting, we will end up in a place name Himalaya. We will stay there tonight and prepare for the final climb to our ultimate destination, the Annapurna Base camp.

Leaving no trace behind, we will start our day early today. It is the last and vital day of our trek. We will hit two base camps today. The Machhapuchere Base Camp is at 3900 m, and the Annapurna Base Camp is at 4130 m. The most exciting part of this day is the spot for our meals. We will have our breakfast at Himalaya.

Moreover, we will trek for three hours to have lunch at Machhapuchere Base Camp. Eventually, we will continue hiking for another three hours to Annapurna Base camp for dinner. Doesn’t it sound exciting and worth climbing the altitude? If weather permits, we can be fortunate to view magical sunset from the Annapurna Base Camp and stay overnight at the lodge.

Wake up early in the morning, along with the sunrise, we will sight Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Himchuli, Barahi Shikar, GandharvaChuli, and Tent peak from the base camp. Reminiscing the awe-striking panoramic mountain views, we will have our delightful breakfast. After that, we will pack up and get ready for an adventurous Heli ride back to Pokhara. We will land at Pokhara airport after a while and head back to the hotel. You can freshen up and go out for sightseeing around Pokhara. The closest one from your hotel is Phewa Lake, the second biggest lake in Nepal. There you can go boating and visit Tal Barahi Temple. After that, you can go to visit Davi’s Fall, Mahendra Cave, Gupteshwor Cave, and a hanging (suspension) bridge.

You, along with your guide, will head towards the bus station to catch a tourist bus to Kathmandu after your breakfast. It’s the same highway that you traveled on the second day of your trip. Once again, you can enjoy the views from your window seat. Reaching Kathmandu, you will go to your hotel and have the rest of the day for yourself. You can share your experience of this trek with everyone and gives feedback to the company regarding the services they provided. ABC Trek and Helicopter Return Accommodation

As a part of the Annapurna Base camp Trek itinerary, you will be spending two nights each in Kathmandu and Pokhara, respectively. There you will be offered by well recognized three-star hotels. You can also demand the hotel of your choice during your booking. However, if you request high-end hotels, then you will have to pay extra for that. As your trek starts, we will arrange a premium quality with a twin bed and attach bath. When you trek further to a higher elevation, the accommodation can drop to a standard toilet away from dinner.

The tea houses at higher elevations are made up of the biomaterials like bamboo, wood, and so on. We suggest you take your sleeping cold for your safety. It is hard for us to promise you luxury services at higher altitudes. Hence, we request you to be adjustable and prepare yourself for the extremities of trekking in the mountains. Food, Meals, and Drinks on Annapurna Base Camp Trek and Helicopter Return

Annapurna Base Camp Trek and fly back by Helicopter package includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We can assure you with a healthy meal, but varieties in the menu could be a little difficult option at an altitude. Depending on what elevation we spent our night and what kind of accommodation you will have to adapt to the food culture. We highly suggest you take vegetarian meals at higher altitudes because most of the people in tea house/ lodge have their organic garden. Moreover, the meat they provide is carried from Pokhara or nearby cities, and it takes several days to reach up. So not neglecting the quality and freshness, it would be good for health to have a vegetarian diet during the trek.

During the trek, you can carry nuts, energy snacks, and other healthy components to eat while you are walking. But make sure you bring all your trash with you and dispose of it in the proper bin area. When you are trekking to a higher elevation, your body needs to be hydrated to avoid altitude sickness. Drink plenty of boiled water or sanitized water. Alcohol consumption is dangerous in altitude, as it dehydrates your body and makes you prone to altitude sickness.

 

Physical Condition & Experience Requirements

Annapurna Base Camp Trek and fly back by helicopter is a moderate level trek. A trekker has to walk for a maximum of six to seven hours per day during the whole trek, which is considered normal. For regular trekkers, this walking hour might be reasonable, whereas, for the beginners, it might be a little difficult at higher altitudes. Before you start the trek, you can prepare your body by exercising daily, jogging, and going on for weekly hikes. If a person is self-motivated, passionate, and confident enough to maintain their fitness and positive attitude, they can do ABC trek easily.

Peregrine requests its clients to mention their medical condition while they fill their forms. We will have to arrange the services accordingly. Make sure you carry your required medicines throughout the trip, as all medicine may not be available in high altitude rural areas. Moreover, we request you to consult with your doctors if there is any kind of diseases or health issues that could be prone to high altitude. We strongly recommend such people to take care of their health first.

 

Best Time to Travel

The utmost suitable season for Annapurna Base Camp Trek is autumn (September, October, and November) and spring (March, April, and May). Autumn and spring season will greet you with crystal clear sky and blooming of multi-colored rhododendron flowers. If you like less crowd, then winter (December, January, and February) is just perfect for you. The only withdrawing factor for this season is the unbearable cold weather, which can be solved by carrying proper winter gear. Similarly, if you are a keen botanist or an avid plant lover, then summer or monsoon season (June, July, and August) is the season for you. Wear proper rain gear and go through it.

Generally, for a group below six in numbers, we provide one professional trekking guide. Upon request, we do give a porter who can carry luggage of two trekkers. However, the maximum weight a porter can carry is 25 kg. So, make sure that a trekker can only carry luggage of a maximum of 12.5 kg or below. If the group of trekkers between 6 to 10, we provide an assistant guide. While a group more than ten will be provided by one trip leader for the smooth functioning of the trek. We do even have professional female trekking guides and crew members for female travelers. You can mention the form at the time of booking if you require a female crew.

 

Drinking-Water Options and Arrangements

Packaged drinking water in abundance in the Annapurna region trek. Although we suggest you are an eco-friendly and responsible trekker. You can easily carry a single-use personal water bottle and refill it when possible. Water purifying tablets are readily available at any pharmacy. You can also pay a few amounts and drink boiled water when available.

 

Buy Travel Insurance

Before you start your trek, you need to have travel insurance by yourself. The travel insurance should cover air ambulance, emergency helicopter rescue, and medical expenses. Peregrine Trek and Tour do not provide any kind of insurance. However, we can suggest you some trustable insurance companies. After completing the policies, you have to give a copy of that insurance before the trek.

Fantastic ABC

We had to change our plan due to some health conditions during our ABC trek and helicopter return. We were afraid that our holiday would get ruined. But there was this guide Dhanapati who was terrific enough to organize our trek in an entirely different schedule. Climbing further uphill in search of best mountain sighting, we will end up in a place name Himalaya. We will stay there tonight and prepare for the final climb to our ultimate destination, the Annapurna Base camp.

Leaving no trace behind, we will start our day early today. It is the last and vital day of our trek. We will hit two base camps today. The Machhapuchere Base Camp is at 3900 m, and the Annapurna Base Camp is at 4130 m. The most exciting part of this day is the spot for our meals. We will have our breakfast at Himalaya.

Moreover, we will trek for three hours to have lunch at Machhapuchere Base Camp. Eventually, we will continue hiking for another three hours to Annapurna Base camp for dinner. Doesn’t it sound exciting and worth climbing the altitude? If weather permits, we can be fortunate to view magical sunset from the Annapurna Base Camp and stay overnight at the lodge.

Wake up early in the morning, along with the sunrise, we will sight Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Himchuli, Barahi Shikar, GandharvaChuli, and Tent peak from the base camp. Reminiscing the awe-striking panoramic mountain views, we will have our delightful breakfast. After that, we will pack up and get ready for an adventurous Heli ride back to Pokhara. With this Heli ride, you will be opportune to get the closest view of magical Himalayas. Peregrine Treks and Tours are always trying to make the trip an exclusive event for their clients.

We will land at Pokhara airport after a while and head back to the hotel. You can freshen up and go out for sightseeing around Pokhara. The closest one from your hotel is Phewa Lake, the second biggest lake in Nepal. There you can go boating and visit Tal Barahi Temple. After that, you can go to visit Davi’s Fall, Mahendra Cave, Gupteshwor Cave, and a hanging (suspension) bridge.

You, along with your guide, will head towards the bus station to catch a tourist bus to Kathmandu after your breakfast. It’s the same highway that you traveled on the second day of your trip. Once again, you can enjoy the views from your window seat. Reaching Kathmandu, you will go to your hotel and have the rest of the day for yourself. You can share your experience of this trek with everyone and gives feedback to the company regarding the services they provided. At last, you can also tip your guide and helping hands out of gratitude for making your trip successful.

As a part of the Annapurna Base camp Trek itinerary, you will be spending two nights each in Kathmandu and Pokhara, respectively. There you will be offered by well recognized three-star hotels. You can also demand the hotel of your choice during your booking. However, if you request high-end hotels, then you will have to pay extra for that. As your trek starts, we will arrange a premium quality with a twin bed and attach bath. When you trek further to a higher elevation, the accommodation can drop to a standard toilet away from dinner.

The tea houses at higher elevations are made up of the biomaterials like bamboo, wood, and so on. We suggest you take your sleeping cold for your safety. It is hard for us to promise you luxury services at higher altitudes. Hence, we request you to be adjustable and prepare yourself for the extremities of trekking in the mountains. There is no doubt; this will help you to gain unforgettable experiences and memories.

Food, Meals, and Drinks on Annapurna Base Camp Trek and Helicopter Return

Annapurna Base Camp Trek and fly back by Helicopter package includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We can assure you with a healthy meal, but varieties in the menu could be a little difficult option at an altitude. Depending on what elevation we spent our night and what kind of accommodation you will have to adapt to the food culture. We highly suggest you take vegetarian meals at higher altitudes because most of the people in tea house/ lodge have their organic garden. Moreover, the meat they provide is carried from Pokhara or nearby cities, and it takes several days to reach up. So not neglecting the quality and freshness, it would be good for health to have a vegetarian diet during the trek.

During the trek, you can carry nuts, energy snacks, and other healthy components to eat while you are walking. But make sure you bring all your trash with you and dispose of it in the proper bin area. When you are trekking to a higher elevation, your body needs to be hydrated to avoid altitude sickness. Drink plenty of boiled water or sanitized water. Alcohol consumption is dangerous in altitude, as it dehydrates your body and makes you prone to altitude sickness.

 

Physical Condition & Experience Requirements

Annapurna Base Camp Trek and fly back by helicopter is a moderate level trek. A trekker has to walk for a maximum of six to seven hours per day during the whole trek, which is considered normal. For regular trekkers, this walking hour might be reasonable, whereas, for the beginners, it might be a little difficult at higher altitudes. Before you start the trek, you can prepare your body by exercising daily, jogging, and going on for weekly hikes. If a person is self-motivated, passionate, and confident enough to maintain their fitness and positive attitude, they can do ABC trek easily.

Peregrine requests its clients to mention their medical condition while they fill their forms. We will have to arrange the services accordingly. Make sure you carry your required medicines throughout the trip, as all medicine may not be available in high altitude rural areas. Moreover, we request you to consult with your doctors if there is any kind of diseases or health issues that could be prone to high altitude. We strongly recommend such people to take care of their health first.

 

Best Time to Travel

The utmost suitable season for Annapurna Base Camp Trek is autumn (September, October, and November) and spring (March, April, and May). Autumn and spring season will greet you with crystal clear sky and blooming of multi-colored rhododendron flowers. If you like less crowd, then winter (December, January, and February) is just perfect for you. The only withdrawing factor for this season is the unbearable cold weather, which can be solved by carrying proper winter gear. Similarly, if you are a keen botanist or an avid plant lover, then summer or monsoon season (June, July, and August) is the season for you. Wear proper rain gear and go through it.

 

Trekking Crew for Annapurna Base Camp Trek and fly back by helicopter

Generally, for a group below six in numbers, we provide one professional trekking guide. Upon request, we do give a porter who can carry luggage of two trekkers. However, the maximum weight a porter can carry is 25 kg. So, make sure that a trekker can only carry luggage of a maximum of 12.5 kg or below. If the group of trekkers between 6 to 10, we provide an assistant guide. While a group more than ten will be provided by one trip leader for the smooth functioning of the trek. We do even have professional female trekking guides and crew members for female travelers. You can mention the form at the time of booking if you require a female crew.

 

Drinking-Water Options and Arrangements

Packaged drinking water in abundance in the Annapurna region trek. Although we suggest you are an eco-friendly and responsible trekker. You can easily carry a single-use personal water bottle and refill it when possible. Water purifying tablets are readily available at any pharmacy. You can also pay a few amounts and drink boiled water when available.

 

Buy Travel Insurance

Before you start your trek, you need to have travel insurance by yourself. The travel insurance should cover air ambulance, emergency helicopter rescue, and medical expenses. Peregrine Trek and Tour do not provide any kind of insurance. However, we can suggest you some trustable insurance companies. After completing the policies, you have to give a copy of that insurance before the trek.
