Poon Hill being the ultimate destination of our package, the journey to reach Poon Hill will grant you a fantastic opportunity to walk on the trail, witness terraced slopes, and receive the hospitality of warm Gurung and Magar village and ethnic dwellers, wonderstruck Rhododendron lush forest thickly covered in moss. We step onto the land of the Gurung village of Ghandruk, where you will fall in love with their traditional local culture, accent, costumes, and sweetly decorated homes. Ghorepani Poon Hill Yoga Trek Schedule

Morning:
  • Self-practice on the bed: 5-10 minutes (some easy stretches as taught by the yoga teacher)
  • Morning Meditation: with the Yoga teacher (may include sound meditation with the singing bowl)
  • Stretching & Loosening Exercises: Pre-Asana Practices (helps to release muscle pain and prevent muscle tension, prepares the joints for the trek ahead)
  • Yoga Session – Sun Salutation, Asanas, Pranayama, Short Relaxation
  • Healthy Breakfast: Avoid packaged foods and sodas and prioritize organic foods.
  • During trek hours: stretching & breathing control and taking breaks for healthy snacks.
Afternoon:

  • Afternoon Trekking: some stretching and taking a break for some healthy snacks.
  • We will sometimes do an open nature relaxing meditation, depending on the weather and trail conditions, during Ghorepani Poon Hill Yoga Trek. It could be on the river bank inside a safe turn of a dense forest.

We will walk on different trails daily on Ghorepani Poon Hill Yoga Trek. The schedule, as mentioned earlier, will serve as a general guideline as we may not be able to follow the exact timetable due to several factors affecting our trek duration and the facilities available. We will have to merge ourselves with the tranquil going atmosphere of our trails. Enjoy our flexible routine without destroying the mood.

Ghorepani Poon hill Yoga Trek Detail Itinerary

  • Day 1: Kathmandu Arrival

    On this day, you will arrive in Kathmandu, where the representative of Peregrine Treks will appear to receive you at Tribhuwan International Airport and escort you to your hotel. You can occupy your daytime to either rest or walk along the streets of Thamel to buy the equipment necessary for your trip.

  • Day 2: Drive/Flight to Pokhara

    Our guide will lead you toward Pokhara via an early morning tourist coach. During your journey, you can sight views of the mighty Himalayas and green hills followed by dramatic river valleys on the foot of cliffs. After we reach Pokhara, we rest our backpacks to stay overnight. We will have plenty of time to do last-minute preparation for our yoga trek. We will meet for our welcome dinner in the evening, where our professional trekking guide will brief details about this package.

  • Day 3: Drive to Nayapul and trek to Hille

    After ninety minutes of driving with a private vehicle from Pokhara, we will reach Nayapul, where we will start our first day of the trek. We pause for lunch after 15 minutes of the short hike along the bank of the Modi Khola at Birethanti. It is a large village with individual shops and teahouses. We continue to walk through the town, following the north bank of the Burungdi River.

    We will then climb steadily up the valley to Hille and spend our night there. On this day, we will attain a height of 1,495 m after four hours of a relatively short trek to adapt to trekking in Nepal.

  • Day 4: Trek to Bhanthanti

    We resume our Ghorepani Poon Hill Yoga trek after fueling us to climb a steep route to Ulleri, a large Magar village at 2,070m. We will need to struggle by climbing steep stone stairs, which could take some time, but we will get through it. We then will follow the ascending trail gently through the lush forest of Rhododendron and oak towards Banthanti. We will rest our night at Banthanti, attaining an altitude of 2,250 m within four hours of the trek.

  • Day 5: Bhanthanti - Ghorepani

    On the third day of our trek, we will walk through a dense forest of Rhododendrons and oak to reach Nangethanti. Here we will take a lunch break and rest in a beautiful setting. We will walk for one more hour to reach Ghorepani.

    Geographically, the Ghorepani village is divided into Upper Ghorepani and lower Ghorepani. On this day, we stay at upper Ghorepani, which offers panoramic views of Annapurna South, Nilgiri, and its surrounding mountain peaks. The village also has a few shops selling exciting local products and crafts. We will be resting at an altitude of 2,860m, which is relatively higher than our previous stop; you will realize the change in temperature and feel calmer, mainly in the evening and morning.

  • Day 6: Ghorepani - Poon Hill - Tadapani or Chuile

    We start our day super early in the morning, around 4 am, to catch the view of sunrise at Poon Hill at an elevation of 3,210m. Poon Hill is a brilliant spot to view sunrise over the high Himalayas, including the Fishtail, Annapurna I, Annapurna II, Annapurna III and IV, Annapurna South Dhaulagiri, LamjungHimal, Gangapurna, and Manaslu ranges and mountain ranges.

    After spending magical few hours in Poon Hill, we will return to Ghorepani to have breakfast and resume our walk to Tadapani or Chuile village. We will spend our night here relishing the views of Annapurnas, Fishtails, and other mountains at an altitude of 2,600m.

  • Day 7: Tadapani/Chuile - KotDanda

    We will gently trek for about three and half hours from Tadapani/ Chuile through beautiful green scenery Today’s destination is a teahouse in KotDanda, also known as a Little Paradise, located on a ridge between two mountains at an altitude of 2,000m. A local family owned this property made for welcoming guests to their ambiance decorated by a large and beautiful open garden area with colorful flowers and trees. This place is secluded and peaceful.

    You can rest your tiredness by enjoying their organic farm and watching local chickens, dogs, rabbits, and cows. The teahouse is charming, offering fantastic mountain views and a stunning view over the valley on another side. The family welcomes their guest with great hospitality and simple facilities.

  • Day 8: Yoga day at Little Paradise, Kot Danda

    We will adventure in this beautiful place and perform our yoga day session.

  • Day 9: KotDanda - Shyauli Bazaar

    We will continue our Ghorepani Poon Hill Yoga trek descending Shyauli Bazaar through the Gurung Village of Ghandruk. We will come down to the level of Modi River at Shyauli Bazaar at an altitude of 1,220 m, where we can still view Fishtail Mountain.

  • Day 10: Shyauli Bazaar - Pokhara

    On this day, we will have an easy short walk of two hours back to Nayapul, catch our vehicle, and drive back to Pokhara, where we will spend our night enjoying the serene environment of Phewa Lake.

  • Day 11: Return back to Kathmandu by Bus

    Summing up our Ghorepani Poon Hill Yoga Trek Package, we will return to Kathmandu via tourist coach. Our staff and guide will meet you for your farewell dinner and provide a platform for experience and feedback-sharing moments.

Accommodation

We will be accommodated at Samsara Resort or a similar hotel in Kathmandu. For Pokhara, we will be provided with Teeka Resort and local tea houses during the Ghorepani Poon Hill Yoga Trek. The accommodations are made on a twin-sharing basis. Single supplements can be served upon request but will cost an extra USD 250. However, only a room cannot be possible sometimes during higher elevations. In the Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek area, most of your accommodations contain attached bathrooms, while some teahouses may not, and you may have to share the washing and toilet facilities.

Meals

During the Ghorepani Poon Hill Yoga Trek, we have various options in cuisines like Nepali, Chinese, Italian, Continental, Indian, etc. Breakfast will be served from the tea houses or the lodge’s menu, and we will have our lunches on the way to our destination. There will be welcome and farewell dinners with our trekkers.

    To confirm the trek/tour package, we want a deposit of at least 20% of the total tour/trek fee. The remaining balance must be paid when you arrive in Nepal. We take Visa, Maestro, MasterCard, American Express, and other major credit cards. The total cost of a Bhutan and Tibet tour must be paid in full at the time of booking.

    We strongly advise you to purchase a SIM card for reliable internet access throughout Nepal. Nepal Telecom (owned by the government) and NCELL (owned by the private sector) are the two main SIM card providers in Nepal. It is preferable to get a SIM card at an airport, where staff will assist with activation and data plan purchases. If you have a SIM card, it will be easier for you to contact us and locate our airport agent.

    You can charge your electrical devices at hotels and lodges because there are no power outages. In the Himalayan region, however, hotel owners may levy a nominal fee.

    Difficulty & Pace

    Usually, Ghorepani Poon Hill Trekking is more accessible than other trekking in the Annapurna Region. This might be the hardest for the traveler from Tikhedhunga to Ulleri (3381) steps and 3-4 hours uphill from Ulleri to Ghorepani. Generally, it would help if you walked around 5-6 hours per day, but it highly depends on your physical fitness and how much time you spend enjoying the view.

    Getting there & away

    You will drive to Nayapul or Hile from Pokhara and start to trek. Generally, all Annapurna Region’s trekking starting point is Pokhara. You will reach Pokhara by a 25-minute flight or a 6-7 hours drive from Kathmandu in the western part. Also, this trek’s ending point is Pokhara.
