You’ll receive a “final details” letter prior to your trip, specifying the time and place to meet your guides. Please refrain from booking your departure flight before the last day mentioned in the trip itinerary.
Yes, ‘E-tickets are now the norm. Make sure to print your flight itinerary and keep your booking number handy. This will assist our local agents in making any necessary changes to your return flight while you’re in the mountains.
We suggest booking your flight only after you’ve confirmed your trip reservation. While we offer daily departures for this expedition, there might not be a suitable group during the off-season. In such cases, you could potentially join another group. Therefore, it’s advisable to first secure your spot on the trip and then proceed with purchasing your flight tickets.

Yes, most of our expeditions, including the Island Peak Climbing with Everest Base Camp Trek, are equipped with medical oxygen as a precautionary measure. We also carry Personal Altitude Chambers (PACs) to treat symptoms of altitude sickness on the spot. If a trekker or climber experiences mountain sickness, they are placed inside the PAC, which is then inflated. This increases the air pressure around the individual, usually providing immediate relief from altitude-related symptoms. After treatment, the affected individual can usually walk down to a lower altitude for full recovery.
Our guides are trained in high-altitude first aid and carry extensive medical kits, which include various medications specifically for altitude illness. If you have a history of suffering from altitude sickness, it’s crucial to discuss this with both your physician and our team before the trek. Generally, preventative medication isn’t necessary unless you have a known issue. Additionally, trekkers should bring any personal medications they regularly use, as well as a small first aid kit that includes a blister kit and mild headache medication for common altitude headaches.
On the Island Peak Climbing with Everest Base Camp Trek, you’ll be responsible for carrying your day pack. This will include essential items like warm clothing, water, snacks, sunblock, and your camera. The weight is generally light, ranging from 5-10kgs (10-20lbs). On summit days, you’ll add a few more items to your pack, such as your down jacket and technical climbing gear, which you’ll mostly be wearing.
The number of Sherpa guides assigned to a group varies depending on the size of the group and the specific requirements of the expedition. This ensures that each trekker receives personalized attention, making the journey safer and more enjoyable. Our guides are experienced and well-trained, providing not just technical expertise but also deep knowledge of the local culture and environment.
Our expeditions attract a wide range of participants, from novices to seasoned climbers, and from various countries and backgrounds. Whether you’re looking to develop your climbing skills, conquer some of the world’s highest peaks, or simply seek an adventurous getaway, we offer expeditions that cater to all levels of experience and ambition.
Yes, we can certainly arrange private expeditions. We have extensive experience in organizing private trips to various challenging and remote destinations, including 8,000-meter peaks and even Antarctica. Opting for a private expedition allows you greater flexibility in scheduling and the freedom to explore at your own pace. It’s an excellent option for those who prefer a more personalized experience.
Maintaining peak physical fitness is essential for both the success and pleasure of your adventure. We recommend a training regimen that includes both endurance training and pack-carrying exercises. Aim to carry at least 5-10% more weight during your training than you will on the actual expedition. Summit days can be particularly grueling, often requiring 10-14 hours of trekking, so make sure to include some long, challenging days in your training regimen.
We offer a variety of expeditions to suit all levels of ability and ambition. Each of our trips is graded based on both the level of physical exertion and skill required, helping you find the perfect adventure to match your abilities and goals. These ratings are clearly displayed on each expedition page, providing an easy way for you to assess whether a particular trek or climb is right for you.
Comprehensive insurance that covers both personal and medical emergencies is mandatory for all our international expeditions. Given the remote locations of many of our treks, evacuation insurance is also crucial. This guarantees that if an emergency were to occur unexpectedly, you could be promptly moved to a medical center with appropriate care.
We highly advise securing trip cancellation insurance. Such coverage offers financial protection should unexpected events require you to call off your journey. It’s best to purchase this insurance when you sign up for the expedition or at the very least, when you make your final payment.
For specific details about what’s included and what’s not in the cost of your trip, please refer to the ‘Terms and Conditions’ section of the specific expedition page. Generally, international airfares are not included in the trip price. However, we can recommend reliable travel agents to help you with international flight bookings if needed.

Our expedition was a total blast! Our climbing leader was an absolute legend – seriously, we couldn’t have asked for a better guide. And let me tell you, the pre-climb training was an absolute must. Learning about all the gear, getup, and technical bits and bobs was super helpful. I must admit, the climb’s last leg was a bit of a challenge, but I totally crushed it. And with plenty of time to spare, I was able to climb up and descend back down like a pro. Thanks to the awesome folks at Peregrine Treks, we wrapped up our epic adventure with a banging celebration. Seriously, these guys are the best – what a fantastic company!

Not only did the team totally get our western vibe, but they also gave us an authentic Nepalese experience that left us breathless. From start to finish, everything was extraordinary and expertly planned. But the guides made this trip unforgettable – these guys were legends! They went above and beyond to ensure our safety and make sure we had the time of our lives. Trust us; this was one for the books!

I just had to share about my recent Island peak climbing experience with Peregrine. From start to finish, the trip was a total blast! The organization was outstanding, and the guides were absolutely amazing – I truly felt like I was in great hands the entire time. It was such a relief to feel safe and secure throughout the journey. Honestly, I can’t recommend this trip enough! It exceeded my expectations, and I plan to spread the word about Peregrine to all my adventure-loving friends. Go for it – you won’t regret it!

Wow, let me tell you about my unforgettable adventure with Peregrine! They truly offer an exceptional trekking and mountaineering experience. As a newbie to the Himalayas, I was a bit nervous, but thanks to their amazing guides and impeccable organization, my trip was an absolute triumph! Me and my three best buds totally conquered Island Peak this year! We saw this totally insane view of pointy mountains from the tippy top. The food at the starting spot was super yummy. Even though it was really chilly, we slept like babies. The training for climbing at Island Peak Base Camp was so helpful but kinda tricky. Luckily, our guide was always there to help us out. We had the best time ever on our adventure!

Jack and I were on the same team for scaling the highest point. It was an absolute blast reaching the peak. Our guide was a total pro and had a ton of cool stories to tell. We got schooled on the ins and outs of peak climbing and got to hear about all the times he’s led massive groups up to Island peak and Mera Peak.

Dude, my first time climbing a peak was insane! Shoutout to the Peregrine crew for making it happen. If you’re looking to climb in Nepal, these guys are the real deal.
The best experience we had with Peregrine was the whole tour of the Annapurna Base Camp Trek was tailor-made for our requirements; all our requests were reviewed, discussed, and accepted and, in some instances, with a better recommendation.
