  • Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu

    The representative of Peregrine Trek will receive you at the Tribhuwan International Airport and escort you to your hotel. You will have free time to check your essential trekking gear in the afternoon. You can do your last-minute shopping at Thamel. We will meet you at your welcome dinner later in the evening. The trek leader will introduce and brief him about the Annapurna Base Camp Short Trek. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.

  • Day 2: Fly to Pokhara, Drive to Kimche, and Trek to Ghandruk

    We will take off to Pokhara on an early domestic flight. We will drive to Kimchi for two and a half hours. Our Annapurna Base Camp Short Trek starts from this tiny settlement. We will further climb on well-laid stone stairs to Ghandruk. It is an ethnic Gurung village and home to brave Gurkha Soldiers.

We will cross a bridge and take a steep ascent walking on stone steps to Chhomrong. It is also a Gurung Village. You can sight Annapurna South and Machhapuchhre closely from this village. Take your time to appreciate the majestic beauty of the Himalayas and rest your aching muscles.

  • Day 4: Chhomrong- Bamboo (2310M/7579FT)

    Mode: Trekking

    Stretch your legs to climb steeper today. We will descend our steps to the Chhomrong River to cross the metal suspension bridge. The further uphill hike will take us to Khuldighar through a wooded trail following a mixed-species forest. We then take easy down steps to Bamboo, where we can find teahouses in the cluster.

  • Day 5: Trek to Deurali

    Mode: Trekking
    Elevation gain: 3,230m
    Overnight: Teahouse/ Mountain lodge
    We will hike early through the path enclosed by Bamboo. The track opens as we reach the Himalaya Hotel, which offers astonishing views of the glacial river flowing down the valley. Likewise, we will climb a steep route toward the historic Hinku Cave.

    The first climbers used the same cave as an overnight camp to summit Annapurna I. Finally, we will reach Deurali on a walk. You will see a small settlement with a few stone huts covered with blue-roof. You will experience a lowering of temperature, especially during the night and early morning. Therefore, wear proper warm clothes and prevent yourself from getting cold.

  • Day 6: Deurali- Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) Via Machhapuchhre Base camp (MBC)

    We will walk early to catch our trails on this day, leading us to Annapurna Base Camp. However, we will have to cross Machhapuchhre Base Camp first and walk through the natural gateway to Annapurna Glacial Sanctuary. We will walk to a higher elevation where you can notice the change in vegetation getting sparse, and the tree line disappears in the sub-alpine forest.

    As we reach MBC, you can enjoy the breathtaking views of Machhapuchhre (Fishtail Peak), Annapurna III, Gangapurna, and Huinchuli peak. No climbers have summited Machhapuchhre Himal yet. It is believed to be a guardian deity of the locals. Without further delay, we will resume our walk ascending higher to reach our final destination, ABC.

  • Day 7: Trek back to Bamboo from Annapurna Base Camp

    The trail will provide an enticing opportunity to explore the glacial bowl and views of Annapurna Himal, ranging from Annapurna South, Tharpu Chuli, Machhapuchhre, Annapurna I, III, and IV. Annapurna I is the World’s tenth-highest peak. We then take a long walk down to reach today’s destination, Bamboo.

  • Day 8: Bamboo to Jhinu Danda

    Mode: Trekking
    Elevation gain: 1,760m
    Overnight: Teahouse/ Mountain lodge

    We will walk from Bamboo, following trails up and down towards Chhomrong. Again we will resume our trek making a final descent to the ridge-top fair settlement of Jhinu Danda. It is a village well known for its natural hot spring. After checking in to the tea house, we will unload our backpacks and move towards the riverside to relax in the natural hot spring. Later this evening, we will celebrate our victory of completing our trek with group members and crews.

  • Day 9: Jhinu Danda- Siwai- Pokhara

    Mode: Trekking- Drive
    Overnight: Teeka Resort or a similar hotel

    The Anapurna Base Camp Short Trekking days of this trip ends at Siwai walking past terraced agriculture field and traditional farms. We then hop on our private vehicle and head to Pokhara. Pokhara awaits you with a dazzling Phewa Lake and serene views of Machhapuchhre’s reflection on it. Phewa Lake is a famous lake in Nepal where domestic and international tourists often come to enjoy the lake. If time favors, you can also book a half-day guided sightseeing tour at an extra cost.

  • Day 10: Pokhara- Kathmandu

    Mode: Bus Drive
    Overnight stay at Samsara resort or a similar 3-star hotel.

    Hence, we bid goodbye to Pokhara, ending our trek and driving to Kathmandu. You will enjoy the refreshing mountain views and green hills. You can watch people rafting across the Trishuli river. The bus will pause for a few refreshment breaks in midway to Kathmandu. After we reach Kathmandu, you will have free time to rest, go souvenir shopping, or tour around the Kathmandu valley. Peregrine members will meet you for your complimentary farewell dinner at a traditional Nepal restaurant later this evening. We will celebrate your success at Annapurna Base Camp Short Trek and have our floor open for your experience sharing and receiving feedback.

    To confirm the trek/tour package, we want a deposit of at least 20% of the total tour/trek fee. The remaining balance must be paid when you arrive in Nepal. We take Visa, Maestro, MasterCard, American Express, and other major credit cards. The total cost of a Bhutan and Tibet tour must be paid in full at the time of booking.

    We strongly advise you to purchase a SIM card for reliable internet access throughout Nepal. Nepal Telecom (owned by the government) and NCELL (owned by the private sector) are the two main SIM card providers in Nepal. It is preferable to get a SIM card at an airport, where staff will assist with activation and data plan purchases. If you have a SIM card, it will be easier for you to contact us and locate our airport agent.

    You can charge your electrical devices at hotels and lodges because there are no power outages. In the Himalayan region, however, hotel owners may levy a nominal fee.

During these months, the skies are a brilliant blue, and the temperatures at Annapurna Base Camp range from 10°C to 20°C during the day and five °C at night. While you may feel chill in the air, the stunning views set your heart aflame.

    If you’re a thrill-seeker, the monsoon season (June-August) is an excellent opportunity to explore the lush greenery, cascading waterfalls, and vibrant wildlife. During this period, temperatures may vary from a warm 23°C during the day to a cool 5°C-10°C at night. The mornings are bright and clear, but the afternoons can be a canvas of grey and blue clouds. At night, the sky might clear up again.

    In winter, the months of late December to February offer a one-of-a-kind opportunity to trek to Annapurna Base Camp! The days are sunny and radiant despite temperatures dipping to -10°C.     Trek Safety Tips

    Embarking on the ABC short trek means tackling four to five hours of hiking daily from day three! So, being in good shape and mentally ready to take on the challenge is essential. Altitude sickness is rarely experienced on this trek as the highest altitude reached is 4,130m at the Annapurna base camp.

    Yet, it’s wise to stay hydrated with 3 liters of water daily to maintain energy levels. Additionally, reduce your intake of food, alcohol, and cigarettes to give your body a fighting chance with the elevation.

    If you’re looking for extra help in coping with the high altitudes, Diamox may be an option. It would help if you strolled during your ascend. You should prepare your body beforehand by getting the required fitness. You can run, swim, lift weights, spin, or climb stairs.
