Essential Information

Weather

As you know that Nepal is a Himalayan country, so the climate might change. We need to be ready for all weather conditions. As our itinerary is prepared by caring about the acclimatization, we can risk altitude sickness and oxygen deprivation while on this trek. Please be aware that we will not continue our trip to Himalaya if it does not seem right, and we must descend to a lower altitude.

Drones in Nepal

Please be aware that drones and flying drones are prohibited in Nepal. If you violate this regulation, the police may take you into custody.

Meals included

Having a great meal is a vital part of a successful trip. With Peregrine Treks and Tour, you will experience the vast array of amazing foods in the world. When there is a variety of feeding options, to give you more flexibility in deciding whatever you want to eat. The varieties of the foods are easily available in Nepal and this is not so expensive. There is a trend in our group that we all have a meal together; then, we can have it much. Vegetarians can get different kinds of dishes in restaurants, but there may be a limit in some hotels. While trekking in remote areas, you can get fresh ingredients.

Local Flights

You must take all your documents with you; mainly a passport is needed while taking flights. Many times domestic flights get many issues like delay. And all local flights are not included in the cost of your tour unless otherwise noted.

Solo Travelers

Our itinerary and group are designed to share our accommodation, communication, and another comfortable requirement. So the singles travellers have to pay more than the others. Individual travellers participating in group trips are joined in twin or multi-share settlements with someone of the same gender to continue the journey. Some of our individualistic trips are created differently, and single travellers on these plans must pay the individual trip price.

Accommodation

There is a perfect combination of Hotels, guest houses, social hangouts in tea houses. You can get private rooms in the many tea houses except at a higher altitude. In higher elevation, there will be just essential reasonably necessary. The office will be designed and clean, two beds, and little furniture. The attached bathroom can’t be available, and toilets can be either squat or western style; the main thing of a house is that they use only running water, so there is no warm water for bathing and another purpose. If you want to take a bath with hot water, you have to pay for it. However, we control our groups from using water heated by wood, as there is no lack of woods in Nepal. There is no light in the village if you want to charge your mobile, camera and other gadgets you have to pay for. With a large dining table, a warmed Bukhara stove dining room is decorated.

During our trek, we will have only breakfast and dinner at tea houses; lunch will be eaten at one of the trailside restaurants. We will get Nepali traditional dishes such as Dal Bhat ( Rice and Lentils) and other varieties like vegetables, salads, pasta, potatoes, noodles, sandwich, soup, etc. In restaurants, you can get all western food like pizza, momos, burgers, French fries, and many more. You can also order soft drinks, beers, and snacks according to your tea houses and restaurants’ choice. We discourage the buying of bottled water while on the way. It is prohibited to throw plastic bottles in many areas of Nepal because it causes the environmental problem.

What to bring

It is deepening upon your choice of itinerary and weather. If you want to carry your luggage yourself, pack light clothes, gears. You only have to pack light clothes and the weight of bags between 10-15 kg. The suitcase is not recommended for this trip. All travellers feel comfortable with a small size, so we recommend you carry a medium-sized backpack and a day pack to carry cameras, waters, and other electronic gadgets. While trekking porters are assigned to carry a bag of only two travellers. You can leave some of your unnecessary clothes and luggage in hotel rooms. But you have to pay some charges.

Important Note:

  • The weather of the Himalayan region is unpredictable, so layered clothing is recommended throughout the year.
  • You have to choose a backpack to carry your gear and clothe yourself.
  • You need to bring a daypack to carry your electronic things.

Laundry

Laundry is essential while trekking, so we have the facilities, but it takes some charge. There are some times where you have to, or you may want to do your laundry, so we suggest you not bring polluting/biodegradable soap.

Visa and Entry Requirements for Nepal Trekking Tour

Note that it’s your responsibility to manage your visa before travel. We can assist you. Some of the visa information given below:

Nepal

You can get a visa from the abroad embassies or on arrival at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport. All foreigners should need a visa to enter Nepal except Indians. You have to provide a passport, some photos, and fees in US dollars cash only: Single entry visa valid for 15 days -US$ 30 Single Entry Visa for 30 days -US$ 50 and multiple entry visas for 90 Days- US$ 125.

Trip Notes

Given the special memory of Himalayas, beautiful nature, warm love of Nepalese, unique traditions, and culture, we have established an excellent standard in trekking. It is challenging to climb upward and downward of hills, but it is suitable for all those healthy people and matured by mind and heart. Walking on your pace-slow and steady is the way to go- being fit or unfit is not the priority thing; it depends on how you control yourself and deal with altitude. If you try to walk fast and don’t care about your pace, you will be affected by nausea, vomiting, and splitting headaches. You have to stroll, take rest, stand by taking a deep breath, and then wherever you go, you feel good. We and our guide s will be there for you to make your trip awesome. Note that the sun is intense, so you have to wear sunglasses and sun cream. If you feel cold, then immediately wear some layers. Don’t wait to get chillier.

Spending Money

The spending habit might be different between people. Some may love to have expensive dishes and drinks, but others may like to have a simple one. You have to pay the amount according to your desires in shopping, eating, and tipping.

Money Exchange

You can easily get the Automated Teller Machine (ATM) in the city area but this service is not available during the trek. At one time you can withdraw twenty to thirty thousand Nepalese Rupees (Approx USD 180 to USD 200) with bank service charge NPR 500 (approx USD 4). Also, you can exchange your money in Kathmandu, Pokhara and Chitwan. Major currencies like USD, Euro, GBP, AUD, INR, Chinese Yuan, Japanese Yen, SGD, Korean won, CAD, etc.

Emergency Fund

Please make sure that you have access to at least an additional; US$ 200 for emergency cases. You can use that money when circumstances are outside of our control (for example, Natural Disaster). This is a rare phenomenon!

Tipping

It thinks that you have a generous and kind heart if you give some tips which help you. Tipping is the way of showing satisfaction with the person who has assisted you on your tour. Although it is not and it is compulsory is hope for many people who take care of the trip. You will get several chances to give tips to your local guides and drivers. The tipping amount for guides and drivers would range for US$5-10 per person per day. The tipping amount depends upon the quality of health and service provided to you. Porters are the main person who helps you while trekking, so you have to give some tips to porters.

Health

When you travel, you have to first concern yourself with your doctor. If you are taking some medicines or pills, then we need your medical perspective. You have to consult your doctor for up-to-date medical travel information well before departure. Please carry your first aid kit, wipes, sanitizers, and other medical requirements. Many Nepalese pharmacies may not be available for the same medicines which you have used in the west. But if you inform the full name of the drug we can arrange it for you. When you are selecting your itineraries and trip, be careful about your health situation. If you have heart disease and cold dishes, then you cannot trek in the Himalayas area, nor be careful.

Safety and Security

We recommend you to check your government advice to travel in Nepal. Most of the time, you will be with your responsible tour guide. Wandering alone is not recommended in the city as well as trekking areas. You have to keep your cash, passport, cheques, cash, tickets, and other valuable items safely. It is a great plan to use a money belt or neck wallet while travelling. You have to leave your jewellery at home; it is not necessary while going. There are many secure boxes in hotels where you can keep your valuable things, luggage, and other things. A locked box is the safest place while on a trip.

You will be with us in every activity. On tour, you will have free time to pursue your interests and explore at your leisure. Please use your sound consideration when choosing an event in your loose time. Nepal’s cities are safe nowadays, but there may be risks of many crimes at night. So we want to suggest you always stay in a group and travel by taxi to and from restaurants or during night excursions. There may be a chance of protest-and demonstrations in many areas that can potentially turn peace in violence with no warning.

Action by government security forces to disperse demonstrations and protests may occur at any time. If you are in the area of Demonstrators or protesters gathering around you, inform us we will be there to pick up. Don’t stay there to see the fights and take photos; it will be your foolish thing. Water activities are one of the most dangerous elements while trekking. You have no right to get involved in any water activities until you don’t get permission from your guide. We will make reasonable adventure and fun in the water activities, but if you do it yourself, it could be dangerous. Our policy is not to allow our guide(s) to make arrangements on your behalf for water based activities that are not accompanied by guides. Activities like swimming, snorkelling are always at your own risk. We take all those prudent measures about your safety.

Trip Specific safety

  1. Keep your valuable things in the locker of hotels
  2. Use a money belt or neck wallet to safe your money
  3. Keep your passport, tickets, and cash. Cheques safely in a wallet
  4. Keep your locker keys safely and check it frequently
  5. Check your luggage time to time

A couple of Rules

Processing or using drugs is not tolerated on any trip. Using illegal drugs not only contravenes the law of the nation puts the group at risk. Smoking opium and marijuana is part of local culture in some of the world’s elements, but it is not acceptable in our country. Our travel philosophy says to respect everyone we encounter, and all local people will make you feel like a god. Because in our country, there is a belief that guests are gods. So please don’t do any kind of illegal activities. Our CEOs members have the full right to expel any group members if they are found with drugs or other criminal activities.

Travel insurance for Nepal Trekking Tour

If you want to participate in any trip, then travel insurance is very necessary. It is not mandatory to take travel insurance but it is highly recommended. The travel insurance must cover accidental, medical and search and rescue insurance.

Local Dress

When you are packing the clothes, be sure to pack lightweight, long, and loose clothing that will be best to keep you fresh. We recommend you dress respectfully and avoid shorts/skirts and tank tops/singlets when visiting any religious sites.
