Trip Overview of Langtang Valley Yoga Trekking

The Langtang Valley Yoga Trekking is a twelve days package starting from Kathmandu. Kathmandu is the city with the highest number of UNESCO world heritage sites. The trek begins from Syabrubesi village. We will reach there after six hours of driving from Kathmandu. By this time, we will gradually follow the Langtang River heading into Langtang village.

The specific tribe inhabiting the community are Tamang and Tibetan individuals. You will be enticed by their lifestyles, traditions, warm hospitality, and ethnic foods.

Approaching our steps forward, we will reach our ultimate destination Kyanjin Gompa. It is the oldest Buddhist monastery in the Langtang Region. We will explore the monastery and visit the most former cheese factory in the region. You can taste the authentic taste of Nepalese Nak (Female Yak) cheese and take it back home as a souvenir.

We will move to Kyangjin Ri (4350m) without delay to see 360-degree Himalayan views of the Langtang Region. We then descend to Syabrubesi on the next day.  However, we have to take the same trails following our foot trace. At last, we will reach Kathmandu and conclude our trip.

Langtang Valley Yoga Trekking Detail Itinerary

  • Day 1: Arrival day

    On your first day of this trip, you will land at Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu. The representative of Peregrine Treks will be there to receive and escort you to your hotel. You can rest in the afternoon. Your trekking guide will summon you for an evening yoga session and then have dinner.

  • Day 2: Drive to Syabrubesi

    On this day, we will have a road trip to Syabrubensi. It is a small town in the Rasuwa district near Kathmandu valley. During the journey of six to seven hours, you will pass through the Trishuli and Bhote Koshi Rivers and massive hills and gorges. After reaching, we will have a yoga session in the evening.

  • Day 3: Trek to Lama Hotel

    We will start our trek from Syabrubensi. We will gradually walk upwards in the north direction to reach Lama Hotel. We will pass forested trails along the Bhote Koshi River and follow the upstream path toward the Langtang River.
    We pause awhile at Rimche village for our lunch, then resume the walk heading directly towards Lama Hotel. We will continue our yoga session in the evening time and relax.

  • Day 4: Trek to Langtang Village

    On this day, we walk past the forested trail further north of Lama Hotel. This day’s path will take us to Ghodatabela village, the Horse stable in Nepali. Then there are two mini villages: Chyamki and Mundu village.

    We will pass those two villages and finally reach Langtang Village. Langtang village is located on the lap of Mount. Langtang Lirung (7227m). This village is home to Tamang and Tibet tribes. In the evening time, we will continue our yoga session and rest.

  • Day 5: Trek to Kyanjin Gompa

    Indulging in morning yoga sessions, and viewing mountain sceneries from Langtang Village, you will find your paths toward the deeper Himalayas. On this day, we will walk for three to four hours to Kyanjin Gompa village.

    The village is famous for being the oldest Buddhist Monastery in the Langtang Region. You can enjoy majestic panoramic scenes of Langtang Lirung (7227m) and Langtang II (6596m) from the town. Besides, we will perform our evening yoga session, facing the mountain scenes.

  • Day 6: Exploration day

    Taking a day off from a long walk, we will utilize this day for a short excursion in Kyanjin Valey. Firstly, we will hike to Kyanjin Ri (4773m), north of Kyanjin Gompa. On this day, we will sight Langtang Glacier, Langtang Lirung (7227m), and Shisha Pangma (8013m) in Tibet.

    Secondly, we’ll visit the oldest cheese factory that recently re-opened. Thirdly, we will take a short walk to a mini-hydropower nearby. Then, we’ll return to our hotel and continue the evening yoga session, feeling Monastery’s positive vibes.

  • Day 7: Trek to Lama Hotel

    Indulging in the morning yoga session, we will leave Kyanjin village and follow our footsteps back to Lama Hotel. We will finally reach the Lama Hotel in the evening by passing several small communities like Langtang, Mundu, Chyamki, and Ghodetabala villages. After the refreshment break, we will continue the evening yoga session and rest.

  • Day 8: Trek to Syabrubesi

    Our trek completes on this day after we head back to Syabrubensi. We will, eventually, be walking on downstream routes for almost five hours. The trail crosses the dense forest of bamboo and rhododendron. Reaching Syabrubensi, we will celebrate the completion of the trek by indulging in an evening yoga session. Gaining spiritual healing and relaxation of mind and soul, we will rest our night there.

  • Day 9: Drive to Kathmandu

    We will return to Kathmandu, leaving behind the beautiful scenes cape and carrying loads of memories. The six hours drive will drop you at your hotel, where you will have free time to rest and join us for an evening yoga session. Then, we will celebrate your trip with a delicious farewell dinner.

  • Day 10: Departure day

    Before you catch your return flight, we will summarize our morning yoga session. Then, you will have a certain amount of time for your breakfast and final packing. One of our representatives will go to the airport along with you. He will help you with boarding passes and other necessary formalities at the airport. After that, he will wish you farewell, and you will board the flight.

Accommodation

We will stay at a 3-star hotel in Kathmandu and a local lodge during Langtang Valley Yoga Trekking. We usually stay at Samsara Resort or a similar hotel in the Thamel area. If you want to upgrade the hotel, please let us know. We will upgrade the hotel. There are no luxurious hotels during the trek, so we need to stay at a local lodge with basic facilities.

The accommodations are on at least a twin-sharing basis in Kathmandu and the trekking area. If you want to do a private trek, you need to pay for a single supplement, i.e., USD 200, and we will provide a single room in Kathmandu and the lower part of the trekking area, Syabrubeshi, and Lama Hotel. In the upper part, we can’t guarantee a single room, but we will try our best for a single room.

Most teahouses or lodges have European-style attached bathrooms, while some haven’t, and in this case, you need to share the washing room and toilet.

In Kathmandu, Only breakfast is included in this package price. You can quickly get to restaurants near your hotel. You can get various options like Nepali, Chinese, Indian, Continental, etc. The Langtang Valley Yoga Trek offers a limited variety of meals, and you can choose one item from the menu.     To confirm the trek/tour package, we want a deposit of at least 20% of the total tour/trek fee. The remaining balance must be paid when you arrive in Nepal. We take Visa, Maestro, MasterCard, American Express, and other major credit cards. The total cost of a Bhutan and Tibet tour must be paid in full at the time of booking.

    We strongly advise you to purchase a SIM card for reliable internet access throughout Nepal. Nepal Telecom (owned by the government) and NCELL (owned by the private sector) are the two main SIM card providers in Nepal. It is preferable to get a SIM card at an airport, where staff will assist with activation and data plan purchases. If you have a SIM card, it will be easier for you to contact us and locate our airport agent.

    You can charge your electrical devices at hotels and lodges because there are no power outages. In the Himalayan region, however, hotel owners may levy a nominal fee.

    While you book this trip, you can request a pickup service. For that, you have to provide us with your flight details.

    Little walking experience, and a moderately fit person can efficiently complete Langtang Trek. An individual should walk for 5 to 6 hours daily carrying a lightweight daypack. Even if you have no experience in trekking, you can prepare yourself for exercising and staying fit.

    Langtang Valley Yoga Trek route is supposed to be a beginner-level trek, considering from an easy to soft and moderate trek. Walking upwards for four days, you will reach the destination at either Kyanjin Gompa or TserkoRi hill station. You will gain an altitude of about 800m to 900m daily, walking 6-7 hours to reach the Langtang glacier. The next day’s trekking route continues to be uphill most of the time.

    Local Langtang guest houses do have shower facilities. Some lodges provide it for free, but some might charge you money, depending on weather conditions and availability of water.

    Packaged water bottles are readily available on the routes. But, we advise you to be a responsible tourist, creating minimum plastic pollution. Hence, you can carry a bottle and refill it when you find drinking water. Or, you can use water purifying tablets/ chlorine tablets to clean running water and drink after thirty minutes of application.

    There is a maximum opportunity to charge your digital camera or other batteries during your lodge stay during the trek. However, we suggest you carry extra pairs of batteries and an adapter for your suitability.

    Routes along the Langtang treks are equipped with telephone services, and few hotels have Wi-Fi services. So you can communicate with your close ones on a solo trek.

    We are sorry that credit cards in trekking areas are not accepted because of the unavailability of card machines. Instead, you will have to carry Nepalese currency for daily expenses.

    Peregrine Treks have the provision of porters to carry baggage. We provide one porter for two guests. He will take a maximum load of 25 kilograms, which means each guest can pack 12.5 kg of luggage on the trek. If you plan to trek alone or have a personal porter, you can have it by paying extra money.

    Walking hours depend upon the geographical features of the trek destination. Daily, you might prepare yourself for six hours of walk, approximately.

    You can allocate 8-10 USD for regular lunch/ dinner in Kathmandu, whereas 10-15 USD will be enough for extra stuff like water, tea/coffee, chocolate, and other cold beverages on the trek. It depends on your level of spending habits as well.
